You want to import from China, but you are not sure if your supplier is reliable. Then you need to do a survey, which can be conducted from the following 7 aspects.

    1. Check the business license

All legitimate companies in China must be registered with the Chinese government and have a unique company registration number. To verify this registration number, you can simply visit the local administration website or contact the China industry and commerce bureau for verification. If the supplier is not willing to give you this registration number, it is not recommended to deal with him/her.

2.Use search engines and B2B directories

Visit their website, review their policies, and make sure they have their contact information and physical address on the site. Then use your search engine, such as Google, bing or yahoo, to search for "company name + scam" or "company name + dishonesty", if there are complaints from previous customers, they will leave traces on the Internet, you can see it. If there is a complaint, the supplier may not be truthful.

B2B offers validation services and makes life easier. You can also use global sources or alibaba checks to provide suppliers with start dates, company headcount, factory ownership, sales and brand names. This is very useful and it is easy to identify a Chinese supplier.

    3.Make a phone call

Most fraudsters provide the wrong contact information to avoid being traced by law enforcement, so it is recommended to call the given number for confirmation. The most legitimate number should be a phone number, not a cell phone, since most legitimate companies use landline services. Call a landline number and try to get information about the supplier, such as a registration number; If they hesitate, they stand a good chance of becoming fraudsters. Most fraudsters use mobile phone Numbers.

    4. Request for reference

Ask about their previous customer records and ask about the supplier's bank references. If the supplier doesn't have a reference, it may not be true.

    5.Money matters

Try to tell the supplier that the payment will be made when your local agent in China selects the goods at their address. They are very legal if they allow it, but if they don't, they may be liars. Also, avoid untraceable money transactions. Payment methods are mainly used by legitimate suppliers of western alliance, payment friends, TT and Money Gram.

    6. Prepare for factory audit

If a supplier is unwilling to be audited (primarily for capacity), it may signal to a fake supplier.

    7. Background checks

You can order third parties such as Chinese purchasing agents to report supplier information to you, such as some shareholders, financial reports of the past three years, business scope, etc. This information will help you find out if he is legal.
